Dominant second half sends Carolina into break as victors

South Carolina didn’t have a lead for a more than a 20 minute stretch but had a dominant second half to polish off its pre-Christmas schedule with a 74-48 win over Radford on Sunday afternoon at the Colonial Life Arena.

To say the start was sluggish would be an understatement as the Highlanders (10-5) built a lead as high as eight points. The visitors took a 7-6 advantage 4:31 into the game and would never trail until the 13:12 mark of the second half when Collin Murray-Boyles made a contested layup to put his team on top 44-42.

But the Gamecocks (9-3) would lock down the Highlanders on the defensive end in the second half and will head home for the holidays with a resounding win…
