He was en route to a Hall of Fame career when it tragically ended just prior to his senior season. Now 27 falls later Keffer McGee has that formal status as a member of the Mississippi State M-Club Hall of Fame.
Running back McGee is among the seven names added to the Hall at this year’s gala held in Humphrey Coliseum. He is inducted posthumously having passed in 1997 prior to what would have been his senior season.
Nephew Denzel spoke for the family, as mother Matilda passed last year. “It’s truly an honor to accept on behalf of my late Uncle Keffer. I know if Uncle Keffer were here tonight he would be humbled by the recognition and grateful to join the ranks of Mississippi State’s most outstanding athletes.”…
