Yesterday, Selena Gomez voted early in the U.S. presidential election, and she chose to do something a little more elaborate than post a voting sticker selfie.
The actress had herself filmed as she dropped off her mail ballot on her way to the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premiere in Los Angeles. She was dressed up in a red sequin off-the-shoulder Rodarte gown and stuck her “I Voted” sticker on her matching red Roger Vivier clutch. “ITS TIME TO GO VOTE!!!” she captioned the TikTok.
Gomez voted for the first time in 2020. She spoke during her Voting Power Hour appearance in late October 2020 about how her mindset shifted. Living in California, a state that usually votes Democrat, Gomez had felt like her vote didn’t matter.
But with the 2020 presidential election, that changed. She explained, “Honestly, I’m not ashamed to say this but I kind of—this was my first time. And I’m going to say that because I never felt—and this is so true—and I’m now like admitting it to people, like my vote counts. Like, every little thing counts so I just think some people get in their head, like, oh well, what does it matter? And then once I really, really started going in and diving in to this, it’s been all I can focus on.”…
