Brock Purdy helps 49ers cruise past Patriots

Brock Purdy completed 15 of 27 passes for 288 yards and a touchdown Sunday to help the San Francisco 49ers end a two-game losing streak by beating the visiting New England Patriots 30-13. Purdy tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to tight end George Kittle in the second quarter. He also had a pass intercepted in the end zone by Jabrill Peppers in the fourth. San Francisco’s Jordan Mason carried the ball 24 times for 123 yards and a touchdown, and caught two passes for 37 yards. The 49ers’ other TD came when linebacker Fred Warner intercepted a Jacoby Brissett pass and returned it 45 yards for a score in the first minute of the second quarter. Warner left the game late in the second quarter with an ankle injury. San Francisco’s Jake Moody kicked three field goals (22, 26 and 41 yards). The 49ers (2-2) led 6-0 after one quarter, 20-3 at halftime and 27-10 entering the fourth.
