Man charged with threatening mass shootings at 24 Utah schools

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — A California man has been charged with making threats of mass shootings at 24 Utah elementary schools, according to the Utah County Attorney’s Office.

Shawn Bradley Kelsey, 48, of Sunol, Calif., is charged in Utah County with 24 counts of false emergency reporting (second-degree felony).

On Nov. 15, 2024, Kelsey called 24 elementary schools in Utah County and left messages that began with, “You need to make somebody aware that there could be a mass school shooting,” according to evidence obtained by Orem Police…
