Bond reduced for mother charged in 8-year-old child’s hot car death: Court records

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Charlotte mother charged in her daughter’s death in June could soon be released.

Ashlee Stallings, 36, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and neglectful child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. Stallings told police that she went into work at an Amazon Distribution Center and left the child in the car with the air conditioning running. The two kept in contact by text.

After not hearing from the child for about an hour, Stallings went outside to find the girl unresponsive and the car’s air conditioning turned off, according to authorities. The mother tried to drive to the hospital, but later pulled over and called for help.
