According to the City of Kannapolis’ announcement, the West Avenue Express will hit the streets this Friday, offering free rides between key locations on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The service extension to weekends comes as the Kannapolis cityscape thrums with the vibrancy of evening activity and sporting events. Patrons looking for a lift to Cannon Baller games on Thursday nights won’t be left stranded—shuttle service will also be available when the hometown team plays at home. Whether you’re a dedicated fan or just out for a night on the town, you can now skip the parking puzzle and hop aboard Lightning and Thunder, the city’s aptly named duo of shuttles.
Operating as a continuous loop, the shuttles connect passengers to the NCRC public parking deck, the apex of the horseshoe sidewalk, the First Baptist Church, and the iconic Swanee Theatre.
