Lancaster County teacher accused of assaulting elementary school student, deputies say

LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) – A teacher in Lancaster County was accused of assaulting an elementary school student last month.

Michael Edwards, 63, of Charlotte was charged with third-degree assault and battery and cruelty to a child.

The alleged assault happened on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Buford Elementary School off North Rocky River Road in Lancaster.
