( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — Good Sunday morning! Strong thunderstorms are moving through our region this morning, which is leading to a bumpy start to the day.
A tornado watch is currently in effect in Stanly, Richmond, Anson, and Chesterfield Counties until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The storms are capable of producing damaging wind gusts (60+ mph), large hail, and isolated tornadoes.
If a severe thunderstorm warning or tornado warning is issued for your area, be sure to seek shelter. The lowest level of your structure, along with an interior room away from windows, is the best place to be, especially during a tornado warning.
Storms will push east of the Queen City News viewing area by noon on Sunday, but a few more thunderstorms may develop as the cold front pushes by later this afternoon…
