Tensions escalated in Cypress yesterday after the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to reports of terrorist threats, leading to a shootout. When deputies arrived at the 12700 block of Telge Road, they encountered the suspect allegedly in the process of carrying out the threat, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, as confirmed by CW39.
According to a report from FOX26 Houston, the incident began when deputies were called to the Creek Wood Bar and Grill on Telge Road after an Asian male suspect allegedly made several threats to a reportee’s daughter, including sending photos of firearms via phone. When deputies attempted to apprehend the suspect, a chaotic scene unfolded. The deputies gave repeated loud commands to remove the suspect from his vehicle, but he attempted to flee, leading one of the deputies to discharge their service weapon multiple times at the vehicle.
Despite the suspect’s attempt to flee, the pursuit ended shortly after he crashed in a nearby parking lot. The man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and evading arrest.
