Christmas fire draws large response to Myrtle Beach motel

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach firefighters on Wednesday spent the afternoon knocking down a blaze that broke out at a motel just before 3 p.m.

News13 has a team on site at the 308 2nd Ave. North location of the Atlantic Sands. Photos sent back to the newsroom at 3 p.m. showed heavy smoke and flames.

Myrtle Beach Fire Capt. Jonathan Evans said no injuries have been reported in the two-alarm fire. Horry County Fire Rescue crews also responded to the call.

The Atlantic Sands was built in 1956, according to public records…
