Driver accused of hitting patrol cars during multiple Horry County hit-and-runs

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A man is behind bars after the South Carolina Highway Patrol said he drove into multiple patrol cars while trying to escape authorities.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to Beaver Run Boulevard around 12:36 p.m. Friday for a three-car crash.

Jeremy Sammons, 49, driving a 2014 Ford pickup, collided with two cars as he turned right from Dick Pond Road, according to Cpl. Nick Pye.

After the crash, Sammons drove away from the scene and went back to his home on Bridleford Drive, Pye said…
