Over 5,000 Pounds of Trash Collected Through Stand Up to Trash Initiatives in 2024

Those who enjoy walking on the clean beaches around Dana Point and swimming in the clear waters of the Pacific right off the coast owe a round of applause to the Dana Point nonprofit Stand Up to Trash. As part of a multiyear effort to clean up the coastal town of litter, they have released their 2024 impact report recounting their year in numbers.

Over the years, Stand Up to Trash has collaborated with as many residents and businesses as possible to one day reach its mission of a cleaner Dana Point through education. By organizing 24 events dedicated to environmental conservation and education, Stand Up to Trash has significantly impacted both the environment and the community.

From monthly beach cleanups to engaging initiatives such as the Plant Walk, Citywide Scavenger Hunt, Dana Point Film Festival, and the seasonal Santa Paddle, every event contributed to advancing its mission to reduce marine debris and promote sustainable living…
