Critical fire weather conditions continue in Southern California as several additional Santa Ana wind events are predicted through Jan. 14, possibly longer. There is no significant rainfall in sight.
“We’re not out of the woods yet,” said Eric Drewitz, a meteorologist with the U.S. Forest Service on Wednesday. “We are looking at the potential for another event. Sunday we could see a bit of a push, but more so as we get into Monday and Tuesday.”

Here’s a timeline for the upcoming Santa Ana wind events.
Wednesday night to Thursday morning
Winds will be relatively lighter in Los Angeles and Ventura counties Wednesday night through Thursday morning, the National Weather Service said. North-northeast gusts of 30-55 mph are expected throughout the Los Angeles region, specifically Thousand Oaks, Ventura, Oxnard and the Santa Clarita Valley. Relative humidity is not predicted to climb above 20% in many locations.
