Cal Poly Clinches Big West Championship Spot With Fourth Straight Sweep

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Mustangs (19-8, 12-4 BWC) are set to remain in first place after pummeling the visiting UC Irvine Anteaters (25-17, 25-12, 25-13) on senior night. Cal Poly has now clinched a spot in the Big West Championship field while still having a clear shot at one of the top two bye spots.

In her final home game at Mott Athletics Center, Tommi Stockham played arguably her best match of the season, hammering down 18 kills to reset her season-high in a three-set game while hitting .500 and collecting seven digs, the second most on the team. That takes her per-set pace to 3.71, which separates her as the second-best in the conference.

Chloe Leluge and Amy Hiatt were once again errorless as the pair combined for two blocks together while hitting .667 and .429 respectively. Leluge continues to pace the Big West with a .373 hitting clip on the season. Alongside Leluge and Hiatt, Breklyn Pulling totaled another five blocks to help Cal Poly crack double-digits for the 11th time this season and the third match in a row…
