Gwinnett County is gearing up to inaugurate a new segment of the Western Gwinnett Pathway that aims to seamlessly connect different parts of the community. As part of the Countywide Trails Master Plan, this trail segment stretches five miles and will officially open tomorrow, linking Rogers Bridge Road and Suwanee Dam Road. The ribbon-cutting event, according to Gwinnett County’s announcement, is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Key figures such as Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and Duluth Mayor Greg Whitlock will be present to celebrate the occasion. The project was made possible through collaborative efforts between the county and the cities of Duluth and Suwanee, with partial funding from Gwinnett’s SPLOST program.
Among the speakers ready to address the community and media are several local leaders, including District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden and Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette.
