St. Tammany Sheriff investigates shooting in Folsom; drugs, guns recovered, sheriff’s office reports

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in the Folsom area that left one man in critical condition Friday afternoon.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 3:15 p.m. on the 1100 block of McCoy Road. Upon arrival, authorities found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition, the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office said.

During their investigation, detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit searched a residence linked to the victim. Inside, they discovered a large quantity of marijuana and a firearm reported as lost, which is believed to have been involved in the shooting…
