COLUMBIA, Md. — Residents of Howard County are expressing concern over a surge in crime following a fatal shooting on Tuesday night in a typically quiet neighborhood. The incident has left the community on edge as the search for the shooter continues.

Howard County police responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, where they discovered 17-year-old Lance Carrington deceased in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The shooter remains at large, police said.
