McTeacher Night helps Oak Glen raise funds for student events

Lansing, Ill. (November 2024) – Oak Glen Elementary School returned to McDonald’s in Lansing for its second annual McTeacher Night on Nov. 12. Selling apple pies donated by the restaurant, the school raised $855 to put toward future events.

“We do McTeacher’s Night to raise money for the school, but also to interact with the community,” said Oak Glen Principal Mike Earnshaw. “The staff had a blast, and we love to see our students and their families out. It’s a fun time. Everyone enjoyed it. I think we’d do it even if we weren’t making money. The more we can do with local businesses and community members, the better.”

Oak Glen saw 22 staff members volunteer for the event, a higher turnout than last year. They sold apple pies to McDonald’s customers from 4 to 7 p.m.
