Local school paints 225 pumpkins for nursing home

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Riverview Rehabilitation Center received over 200 decorated pumpkins after a local school wanted to make a difference.

The students at the Father John V. Doyle School made a visit to the nursing home Tuesday, where they passed out all of the 225 painted pumpkins to the residents.

“To see my students interacting with the residents, listening to their stories, shaking their hands, and taking time out of their day to make someone else’s, was truly an experience I will never forget,” the Father of John V. Doyle Dean of Students, Stacy Gillard said. “Words can’t describe how proud I am of them.”…
