ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – As our high pressure system slides eastward, winds out of the south and southeast usher in more moisture to the area starting tonight into Monday. In response, temperatures for Monday morning will be slightly warmer than previous nights as lows only fall into the upper 40s to low 50s . Clouds will also join this overnight forecast as well as a few areas of patchy fog. Monday will feature sun and cloud mix with warm highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. Cloud cover will grow into the night with rising rain chances for Tuesday.
A cold front will usher in tropical moisture into the Southeast from the remnants of Sara leading to an increased chance for heavy rainfall. Rainfall will begin late Tuesday morning and continue into Wednesday morning. The Weather Prediction Center has a marginal risk of flash flooding across the area for Tuesday. Little chance for severe is possible at this time. Highs during this time will be in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 50s and low 60s.
