Gainesville authorities are investigating a potential homicide after a man was found dead inside an apartment over the weekend.
Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook said Monday that officers were called to the Walton Summit Apartments on E.E. Butler Parkway early Saturday morning when they found the man dead.
“Initially (the call) was for a welfare check at one of the apartments,” Holbrook said. “We were unable to make contact with the individual inside the apartment. We were able to make entry into that apartment, at which point officers found the male subject deceased.”…
