Though Cherokee County is not expected to see any more snow Friday, the area is still expected to see light freezing rain Friday night, which could cause roads to re-freeze overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
“The snow is done. What we’ve transitioned over to at this point is either sleet or, at this point in most of Cherokee, it looks like a light freezing rain,” said National Weather Service Senior Meteorologist Dylan Lusk. “Temperatures right now in the area are right at or just below freezing. We are measuring about 30 degrees right now in Canton. This is going to continue for the next little bit.”
