Hamilton County DA faces potential removal from East Ridge student’s case

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Hamilton County District Attorney’s office may be removed from prosecuting a former East Ridge student’s case due to a potential conflict of interest.

Tauris Sledge, who faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, has also filed a civil lawsuit against the county.

Attorneys for Sledge argue that District Attorney Coty Wamp should be disqualified from the criminal case because she is involved in both the criminal and civil proceedings.
