CT man sentenced to more than five years for having gun on federal supervised release

A New Haven man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison for having a gun while he was on supervised release for a previous conviction in which he robbed a federal informant.

Shaquil Gary, 31, faced sentencing on Tuesday in federal court in Bridgeport where a judge handed him a 66-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut .
