Orange County offers year-round free bus rides in Newburgh, Middletown

Orange County-run transportation will be free in its two biggest cities through the end of the year, according to an announcement from county Executive Steve Neuhaus.

The county started sponsoring free bus rides for all Newburgh and Middletown transit services on Friday. The free rides are available to anyone, regardless of where they live, according to the announcement. The initiative covers fixed-route and American Disabilities Act paratransit services, which are used by 200,000 riders a year.
