CHAMPAIGN — An Illinois state trooper from St. Joseph died as the result of injuries sustained in an accident Friday afternoon in north Champaign County.
State police said about 3:40 p.m. Friday, Trooper Corey S. Thompsen, 28, was involved in a two-vehicle crash on East Leverett Road at County Road 1300 E, about 2 miles east of Interstate 57.
