IRVINGTON, Ala. ( WKRG ) — While water pressure for many Irvington residents remained at a trickle in the days following Tuesday’s historic snowstorm, officials said pressure should come back as pipes begin to thaw.

Since Jan. 19, customers of the St. Elmo Irvington Water Authority said they have dealt with extremely low water pressure.
“This was totally unexpected,” Robert Walker, a SEIWA customer, said. “The water pressure was just— it was just almost nothing.”
James Vaughn, the superintendent of the water authority, said the nearly weeklong trickle was partly the result of frozen and burst pipes due to the recent cold weather. Rather than letting their faucets drip, Vaughn said some residents let their faucets flow at full pressure, draining the tank for their neighbors…
