Mobile police ask public’s help identifying man who allegedly tried to steal cup of coffee, pulled knife on store clerk

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile police need the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly tried to steal a cup of coffee and pulled a knife after dousing a gas station employee with the coffee.

According to police, the man walked into the Quik Pick gas station on St. Stephens Road around 8:32 a.m. on Dec. 6, poured a cup of coffee, and tried to leave the store without paying for it.

When a store employee confronted him, the man poured the coffee on the employee and threatened him, according to police. The suspect then tried to assault the victim before pulling out a knife, police say…
