BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — Two utility companies that provide power in Baldwin County broke usage records during the historic winter weather this week. Baldwin EMC, which serves 91,000 customers, says usage surged Tuesday afternoon while the snow was still falling.
“At 3 o’clock when the temperature was 23 degrees, during that hour, our peak exceeded 520 megawatts,” said Mark Ingram, Baldwin EMC Public Relations Vice President.
