Plane lands on Iowa highway after running out of fuel (KCRG)

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa state patrol says a small plane landed on US 218 Saturday evening after running out of fuel.

Officials say it happened around 5:45 this afternoon.   

They say a man operating the bi-wing plane ran out of fuel and landed around the 94 point 8 mile marker in the southbound lane. Officials were able to push the plane onto the side of the road and resume traffic. They then got fuel for the plane, and the pilot safely landed at the Iowa City Airport…
