ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – Search and rescues, helicopters, and live demonstrations—demonstrations – starting Friday, there will be plenty of action along the Mississippi River as the U.S. Coast Guard showcases off what they have to offer at their two-day family-oriented event, ‘Mission Mighty Mississippi.’
This free event will offer the public a chance to interact with Coast Guard members and explore career opportunities, capabilities, and demonstrations.
Adm. Kevin Lunday, Coast Guard vice commandant, and Coast Guard members, will be at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, 101 17th Street in Rock Island, on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m…
