GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While former President Donald Trump is expected to host a rally in Grand Rapids hours before the polls open, state leaders in Michigan gathered Monday morning for a press conference where they called on residents to vote for the Harris-Walz campaign.
Former Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten (D-MI), and State Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks were in Grand Rapids to slam Trump and Vance’s “Project 2025” agenda, which they believe would give themselves “unchecked power over Michiganders’ daily lives,” officials said in a news release.

“We have actively fought against this kind of agenda in the state legislature, but we cannot do it alone,” Brinks said. “We cannot have someone in the White House who is going to take us back to the times of fewer rights, less opportunity, and more fear.”
