DeWine awards funding to ex-Delphi facility project in Kettering

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Funding has been awarded to assess a former industrial complex in preparation for potential redevelopment.

According to Gov. Mike DeWine, the Montgomery County Land Bank is receiving $300,000 to assess the former Delphi facility in Kettering.

DeWine says a 1.1 million square-foot building sits of the 145-acre property. Currently, officials are considering a potential redevelopment for the property, which has caused environmental assessments to be conducted.

Open burn ban issued for 8 local counties

With the funding from DeWine, crews will be able to install the following at the site:

  • Groundwater monitoring wells
  • Soil borings
  • Soil gas probes
