Local police warn residents of scam calls

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF)– The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning Thursday about scam calls going around. Scammers have called residents posing as employees from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. They made threats to residents to make payments or be arrested.

The Beavercreek Police Department also made a Facebook post last week, which said they received similar reports of someone posing as one of their captains. The scammer told residents they have an active warrant and must pay over the phone…
