DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is asking the public to help identify a man who abandoned several sick puppies Wednesday.
The Humane Society says an unknown man abandoned seven puppies outside of the shelter at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 15. The puppies were found to be suffering from severe cases of canine parvovirus, a highly contagious and deadly disease.
Security camera footage shows a dark colored, four door sedan arrive at the Humane Society shelter. A man exits the passenger side door and removes a pink-colored wire dog crate from the backseat. He places it on the ground before returning to the car, fleeing the scene.
When staff members found the dogs — left outside in the frigid temperatures — they were visibly weak, thin and dehydrated. Three of the seven dogs were in such critical condition, they needed IV fluids and immediate intensive care…
