Update: Flood watch affecting Columbia and Richmond counties until Friday afternoon

On Thursday at 11:11 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated flood watch in effect until Friday at 2 p.m.

The NWS describes, “Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.”

“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas,” explains the NWS. “You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.”…
