Following national trends, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office saw declines in most violent crimes in 2024, improving on 2023’s drops .
Like 2023, deputies investigated fewer homicides in 2024. But they also saw a 17% decrease in robberies and an almost 12% decrease in aggravated assaults, whereas they saw increases in both categories in 2023, according to data provided by office administrators.
