As tens of thousands of women across the country take part in Saturday’s National Women’s March, Women’s March Rockford and Winnebago County Citizens for Choice will host a local event in downtown Rockford.
Hundreds of women are expected to attend the “We Won’t Go Back” Rally from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Rockford Women’s Suffrage Plaza, 200 Y Blvd.
“We will gather at the Rockford Women’s Suffrage Plaza to show our respect for the women whose efforts, sacrifices, and action brought us to today, and for the young women of tomorrow who we hope have legislative support for their healthcare, bodily autonomy and safety, and equal pay,” rally organizers said in a news release. “The day will include a vibrant rally and community gathering, where activists can listen to inspiring speakers, enjoy a DJ, and connect with partner organizations committed to this fight.”…
