Jason here! I discovered The Contrary a few weeks ago while walking through the East Village to meet Linh for our holiday dinner .
Catch up quick: The Contrary is a new cocktail and listening bar from local rapper Billy Weathers, aka “B. Well.”
- The menu has a large selection of drinks and a few appetizers, sandwiches and small plates.
- It opened in November in the former 503 Cocktail Lab + Tasting Room , which closed about six months ago.
Zoom in: There’s a huge J-shaped sofa just beyond the main seating, which Weathers calls the “conversation pit.”
