DES MOINES, Iowa — Multiple lanes of travel on Interstate 235 will be temporarily closed on Friday morning.
Iowa Republican senator proposes expanding state boundaries
The Iowa Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday that the two inside lanes of eastbound and westbound I-235 from 31st Street to Hull Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Drivers will be traveling in the far-right lanes while the closures are in place.
According to the DOT, the closure is so crews can safely paint skip dashes on the road. Typically this work is done at night, but sunlight and warmer temperatures are needed in order for the paint to be properly applied.
The Iowa DOT is reminding Iowans to drive with caution and follow all the signs in the work area. To learn more about the lane closures visit the DOT’s website . You can stay up-to-date on travel conditions on the DOT’s 511 system …
