There was a bit more anticipation attached to Santa Fe’s matchup Thursday with visiting Frank Hughes than previous contests in the series – with both the Wildcats and Lions coming off Class 1A state tournament appearances a year ago.
“This could have been a state championship game last year. That makes it a lot more fun,” Santa Fe coach Brad Slaughter said following his team’s 50-47 victory.
