CCEA needs more volunteers and donations as needs increase

CHESPEAKE CITY — Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association opens their food pantry to families in need, but CCEA staff say that they are in need of more volunteers and donations to meet rising needs in the community.

The organization’s pantry is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at 227 Basil Avenue in Chesapeake City.

Most of the food is donated by community members as well as partnerships with the Maryland Food Bank and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, adding up to around 4,000 pounds of food per month. CCEA provided food to 75 families throughout the month of September, according to staff…
