ASHVILLE, Ohio — Ashville Police Chief Jeff George is facing charges today.
The charges are stemming from an alleged theft in office, according to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew Hafey.
On July 9, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Sheriff Hafey contacted his detectives following a complaint that Chief George had removed an item from the Ashville Police Department’s property room, which was supposed to be destroyed under a municipal court order. The incident occurred on February 15, 2024, when Chief George reportedly took the item and placed it in his personal vehicle.
