Iowa Cancer Registry to hold meetings about cancer risks in all 99 counties

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A report showed that Iowa has the second-highest rate of new cancer diagnoses in the country. Now, the organization behind the report wants to educate Iowans about the specific cancer risks they face in their part of the state.

The Iowa Cancer Registry is creating county-by-county reports to get the word out on the specific risks in each part of the state, and holding informational meetings to address concerns residents have. It’s called the 99 Counties Project .
