Durham school board approves pay increase for teachers and district staff members

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The Durham school board has approved new salary schedules and pay supplements for district staff members.

“We are committed to compensating our employees at the most favorable rates possible and appreciate our Board of County Commissioners for its long-standing partnership and support of our efforts to recruit and retain excellence,” DPS school board Chair Millicent Rogers said in a statement.

The latest compensation move was decided in a special meeting on Thursday night. According to Durham Public Schools, no employees will receive a pay decrease and salaries for classified staff members will match what they were told in June.
