School bus smashes into power pole before hitting Durham home

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A mid-day traffic collision involving two vehicles led to a school bus smashing into a power pole and hitting a house in Durham on Wednesday.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded at around 12:13 p.m. to the intersection of West Markham Avenue and North Gregson Street, where a school bus and a car were involved in a crash.

Investigators said after the two vehicles collided, the bus ended up heading off-road, striking a power pole and a house in the process.

No students were inside the bus, but each driver was transported to a nearby hospital. However, their injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said. Nobody at the home was hurt…
