RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh woman is asking people to remember those in nursing homes in western North Carolina.
Adult diapers, glucose meters, and diaper rash cream aren’t the supplies people usually think of for hurricane relief, but Amanda Mount says they’re desperately needed to provide some dignity and comfort to people living in nursing homes hit by Helene.

“Elders built this community, they built our nation,” she said. “It’s so hard for me to see them in a position where they feel forgotten. It’s heartbreaking.”
Mount returned from western North Carolina, where she checked in with nursing homes in the communities of Fairview and Fletcher outside of Asheville…
