NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Two New Britain middle schools are set to become “phone-free spaces” starting this Tuesday, according to Mayor Erin Stewart.
In a letter to families on Nov. 27, the Consolidated School District of New Britain said Pulaski Middle School and Slade Middle School will implement the use of mandatory Yondr pouches for students to keep their phones in during the school day.
According to the district, students will be assigned numbered pouches that they will receive daily in homeroom to keep their phones locked away. They will each be responsible for their pouches and will either store them in a locker or carry them during the day…
