The holidays always end with a bang on New Year’s Eve. Fancy foods and beverages may await well-wishers for the countdown to the new year. Understandably, some may want to sleep in after a late night out.
Others, however, may want to put their best foot forward and celebrate New Year’s Day in nature. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection State Parks Division, along with various CT State Park and Forest Friends Groups, will hold New Year’s First Day Hikes at 17 parks statewide, including a couple in eastern Connecticut.
